Filling an important place in Yamaha’s class-leading mid-range line-up, the new F90 delivers the perfect power option for the large number of Aussie built boats that have a maximum hull rating of 90 horsepower. The four-cylinder, 16-valve, SOHC 1.8L marine engine, is not only 10KGs lighter, but an increase in displacement over the previous generation 1.5L engine aids in a richer torque-band.

The reduction in weight and improved compactness has been achieved through the adoption of a single overhead camshaft valve-train, delivers smooth and efficient performance only seen in 16-valve, four-cylinder engines of this size. The new F90 delivers a 10% improvement in fuel-efficiency and a significant reduction in noise, through improved engine unit rigidity, muffler redesign and the addition of an intake silencer. The Yamaha F90 is compatible with Yamaha’s range of Command-Link gauges, while its NMEA2000 compatibility allows for easy integration with third-party multi-function displays, GPS and fish finders. MID RANGE FOUR STROKE F70

The launch of Yamaha’s F70 changed customers’ expectations of outboards in this category forever.

The launch of Yamaha’s F70 changed customers’ expectations of outboards in this category forever.

Beating in the heart of the F70 is a unique four-cylinder, 16-valve design activated by a single overhead camshaft. The 4-valves per cylinder valvetrain has dramatically increased this outboard’s volumetric efficiency, effectively transferring more air and exhaust at a more efficient rate. This makes the F70 more fuel-efficient, promotes a stronger torque band and makes the F70 lighter than all four-stroke and direct injected two-stroke competitors.

The F70’s awesome performance offers huge versatility and makes it the perfect power option for a huge range of mid-sized fishing boats and pleasure craft.

Features

Key Features F70 16 Valve SOHC 4 Cylinder.jpg

996cc 16-Valve SOHC Marine Engine

The Yamaha F70 utilises an advanced 1.0 litre, sixteen-valve, four-cylinder marine engine, featuring a sophisticated single-overhead camshaft (SOHC), with four-valves per-cylinder valve-train for maximum power and efficiency. Weight is reduced while the intake valve area is increased 17%.

Key Features F30 F40 Electronic Fuel Injection.jpg

Electronic Fuel Injection

The Multi-Point Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system, in conjunction with the Engine Control Module (ECM), injects the right amount of fuel into the combustion chamber at the optimum timing. This results in ‘first-time, every-time’ hot and cold starting, improved fuel efficiency and excellent throttle response.

Key Features F30 F40 Fresh Water Flushing System.jpg

Fresh Water Flushing System

Simply connect a hose to the easy access connector to flush salt and dirt from the outboard without having to run the engine. Flushing the engine after each use reduces corrosion and extends the engines life.

Key Features F70 Gear Ratio.jpg

Great Acceleration

The F70 provides outstanding holeshot and acceleration performance thanks in part to an advanced engine sensors that monitors and adjusts ignition timing for maximum performance and a gear case featuring a high 2.33:1 gear ratio, with specially hardened pinion, forward, and reverse gears for increased durability.

Key Features F70 Precise Throttle Control.jpg

Precise Throttle Control

As air enters the F70, it is routed through a single throttle valve, to ensure the precise amount of air necessary for optimum power and fuel efficiency. It then enters each cylinder through individual long intake tracks, which are ‘pulse tuned’ to provide air at the precise volume and timing for maximum density and power.

Key Features F50 F60 HighOutput Alternator.jpg

High-Output Alternator

A 12-Volt 16-Amp high-output alternator ensures that power is always available to start the engine, even after long periods of idling or running at low revs. This not only provides extra starting power, but delivers sufficient power to run the wide array of on-board electronic devices used in modern boating.

Key Features F30 F40 Variable Trolling.jpg

Variable Trolling Control

Yamaha’s variable trolling control allows you to precisely adjust the engine’s idling speed from 650 to 900 RPM in 50 RPM increments. The ability to finely tune the trolling speed allows fisherman to perfect their lure presentation when chasing different species of fish.

Key Features F8 F99 One-Piece Cowling.jpg

One-Piece Cowling

This engine features a one-piece outer cowling design with an intake air drain system, to efficiently drain away any water that enters the cowling during normal engine operation. Incoming air is routed through a labyrinth of passages that help trap and drain water before it enters the engine’s intake, for maximum reliability.

Key Features F8 F99 Rest Pad.jpg

Rest Pad for Vertical Storage

The special rest-pads allow the engine to be laid down on its back vertically. Alternatively, you can lay the engine on its side.

Key Features F8 F99 Prime Start.jpg

Prime Start

Exclusive to Yamaha, PrimeStartTM makes starting a Yamaha outboard as easy as starting a car. It allows the engine to be started cold by automatically controlling the engine ‘warming up’ process - eliminating the need for a conventional choke or the need to ‘warm up’ your engine by revving it in neutral.
